L'arôme is a historical fantasy pitch about a perfumer's apprentice who goes on Indiana Jones styled adventures to recover rare and magical flowers for the purpose of making powerful perfume. The story follows Marcel, a budding perfumer who haphazardly navigates the realms of the higher class and social elite while constantly falling off the wagon of sobriety.
Marcel works under the guidance of his long time mentor, Florentine, who is the most esteemed perfume maker on the main continent. At Florentines behest, Marcel travels to exotic lands to hunt down uncommon and often strange flowers in the pursuit of creating the worlds most sought after scents. On his most ambitious quest yet, Marcel lands on a remote island in search of a legendary plant. He soon learns the significance it holds to the people as a source of medicine during a great plague long ago. The legendary flower was once picked to near extinction and the last few reside in a perilous temple deep in the jungle and the people of the island are starting to show signs of another great illness. Joined by a wisened medicine woman, Tsiky, Marcel embarks on his hunt with unclear intentions and the inevitable consequence of picking the last of the legendary flowers.
